Do you look the same way you feel?
This is a frequently asked and inevitable question that comes up before we get dressed to go out and face the world.
How much of what we want to prevent, can we actually control?
Lines, wrinklesand folds on the skin are signs of the aging process.
Can we prevent this from happening?
Let’s learn how wrinkles happen and Botox can help.
How Do Wrinkles Happen?
The movement and activity of muscles causes creases in the skin.
Wrinkles become visible at rest-overtime. Muscle movement, skin laxity, and facial animation are genetic traits.
These genetic traits are passed down. The rate by which we move our facial muscles varies.
Which Muscles Are Making Lines?
The Frontalis (Forehead Muscles) makes lines visible across the forehead. When we are interested, surprised, or excited we make these wrinkles and folds.
The Corrugator (Eye Brow Muscles) is a strong and fatty muscle located underneath your eyebrows. These are the lines created between your eyebrows, known as “elevens.”
The Orbicularis Oculi (Crows Feet Muscles) are muscles around the eyes. This muscle group is the culprit wrinkle around the eyes.
These wrinkles around the eye are best known as, “crows feet.”
How Can I Prevent This From Happening?
Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are wrinkle relaxers. These guys slow down the muscles ability to over animate.
When we slow down muscles, we smoothen and relax lines.
Many clients are coming in to get “micro doses” of Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin. Many of these clients are as young as 21 years of age.
Wrinkles are easier to address when identified earlier in life because muscles become stronger as we age.
Lines become more present as we age so if addressing your wrinkles and muscle anatomy is important to you, schedule a consultation at Cultura in Washington DC today.
