Why Are Men Having More Cosmetic Procedures?

Plastic surgery and cosmetic treatments are becoming more popular for men, and this is turning some heads in the cosmetic treatment world.

Men, making up fifty percent of the population, are an enviable source of revenue–but what’s actually been convincing them to turn to cosmetic surgery?

31% and Its Origin

According to survey from the American Academy for Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, 31 percent of men were extremely likely to consider a cosmetic procedure.

At least part of this number comes from social changes. The fact of the matter is cosmetic treatment is becoming more accepted–and that’s naturally going to lead to increased numbers from men who simply want to look better.

But perhaps the other reason is that there are just so many more procedures that aren’t as invasive. Surgery is a big ask, but a little Botox or dermal filler isn’t.

And when you can be in and out of the office within a few minutes with no downtime–that means a lot to men.

Botox is an extremely popular choice for men–as it is with women–to help reduce folds and sagging.

But while injectables are extremely popular with men, and among their top procedures, their choices aren’t limited to that.

Men looking to get rid of a spare tire flock to liposuction, especially as recovery and downtime has gone down in recent years.

Newer technology has made a once relatively serious procedure much more accessible–and that seems to be a big deal for men.

Not to mention that other fat reduction methods are providing strong competition for liposuction.

For men who aren’t quite ready to make the jump to liposuction, treatments like CoolSculpting provide a great alternative that isn’t as big of an investment.

The basic gist of it is this: as cosmetic treatment technology continues to improve, so will buy-in from men.
