Can I Use Botox After Pregnancy?
Can I Use Botox Right After Pregnancy, or Do I Need to Wait?
You’ve probably already heard, but Botox is a great way to rejuvenate your skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles!
If you recently had a baby and have been going with a bit less sleep than usual, getting some Botox may sound especially appealing right now. But, can I use Botox after pregnancy, and if not how soon can I get it again?
Let Me Know – Is It Safe? Can I Use Botox After Pregnancy?
Currently, there have been no studies done on the safety of Botox in pregnant or nursing people or their babies. The FDA has also not approved Botox use for people during pregnancy or nursing. For these reasons, it is best to avoid getting Botox while nursing. Animal studies have suggested that Botox would not affect a fetus, but these same studies have not been done in humans.
It is very possible that Botox is perfectly safe in these cases, since the treatment usually stays where it is put. But, given that we do not have any information either confirming or denying the safety of these treatments in these cases, it is best to wait to get them until you are done nursing.
Talk to your dermatologist about other options that you can use to keep your skin looking beautiful while you breastfeed. There are some excellent skin rejuvenation treatments available while nursing, such as chemical peels!
