Since its introduction last summer, the aesthetic industry has been buzzing about Allergan’s new non-invasive treatment that firms and tones muscles.

You may have even heard your friends at the gym or workout class talking about CoolTone for muscle building and wondered: What is CoolTone?

Continue reading to learn all about CoolTone, including what it is, how it works, treatment areas, and how it compares to Emsculpt.

What Is CoolTone?

CoolTone is an FDA-approved body contouring treatment that is designed to build, strengthen, and firm muscles – all without surgery, incisions, anesthesia, or downtime.

It is manufactured by Allergan, the same company that’s responsible for CoolSculpting, Botox, and Juvederm.

Who Should Consider CoolTone?

CoolTone is well-suited to women and men who are at or near their ideal weight and shape, but have been unable to get desired muscle tone and definition through exercise alone.

How Does CoolTone Work?

During CoolTone, a treatment applicator is secured to the targeted area and delivers Magnetic Muscle Stimulation (MMS). MMS bypasses skin and fat and causes a series of intense involuntary muscle contractions.

These contractions are much more powerful that what anyone can achieve through physical activity and cause muscles to remodel.

The end result is thicker, firmer, stronger muscles and a more toned physique.

What Areas Can CoolTone Treat?

CoolTone is currently cleared for muscle toning in the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs.

What’s the Difference Between CoolTone and Emsculpt?

In addition to asking – What is CoolTone? – many people want to know how CoolTone compares to Emsculpt.

While both technologies have the capacity to develop and define muscles, CoolTone does so with 50% more magnetic intensity than its competitor.
