THE BEST INJECTABLE YOU SHOULD USE FOR YOUR SPECIFIC CONCERN
Dermal Fillers Washington DC
So you have finally decided on getting some cosmetic injections done.
But, now you’re at the doctor’s office and have no idea what to ask for—sound familiar?
Don’t worry, this handy guide will help you find just the right injection and filler for you.
Not all fillers are created equal and certain kinds can actually only be used on specific areas of the face—something that the experts at Cultura can explain in more depth.
Read on for best injectables for specific concerns.
1. Thin hyaluronic acid filler will get rid of fine lines
New York dermatologist Jody Levine, MD, knows just how to fight back against those pesky fine lines emerging on your face.
She recommends a very thin hyaluronic acid filler. “Belotero is my thin filler of choice,” Dr. Levine says. “But there are other similar ones out there, like Restylane Silk.”
Belotero was actually developed for the purpose of correcting fine lines. Its low viscosity, which allows superficial injections to fill the tissue just underneath the skin and around fine lines.
Since the injections are very deep, it will be about three months before needing another touch-up.
2. Hyaluronic acid filler can also make your lips bigger
Hyaluronic acid fillers can enhance the size or shape of the lips to your desire—be it Restylane Silk, Belotero, Juvederm Ultra, or Volbella.
When it comes to making lips fuller, however, California dermatologist Karyn Grossman, MD, has her favorite.
“My favorite filler is Juvederm,” the West Coast plastic surgeon says. “It gives the softest and most natural feeling in the lips.”
3. To restore lost volume, have a thicker filler injected
When it comes to adding volume, it depends on what area of the face you’re looking to improve.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Levine says she typically utilizes a combination of fillers.
“In an older face that has lost a lot of volume, a filler like Juvederm Ultra Plus, Restylane Lyft or Radiesse is best,” Dr. Levin continued.
Radiesse works best on the lower face while Juvederm Ultra should be used on the upper face.
4. If you want to fix sagging skin and avoid surgery, opt for a filler that was made to lift
Radiesse and Juverderm Voluma can also lift sagging skin to great effect.
New York plastic surgeon Craig A. Foster, MD, says of the injections, “These fillers are designed for this purpose and they add volume back.”
For the best results, combine these fillers with skin-tightening procedures.
5. Want more defined cheeks? Select a collagen stimulator or a hyaluronic acid filler
Dr. Grossman, out of Santa Monica, CA, isn’t a fan of “overstuffed cheeks.”
She recommends Restylane, Restylane Lyft or Juverderm Ultra Plus/Voluma.
6. For under your eyes, pick a filler that won’t cause a blue tint
You need to know what the Tindal effect is. Filler under the eyes can sometimes leave a bluish tint on the skin because the under-eye area is extremely thin.
Dr. Foster endorses fillers like Belotero and Restylane Silk to avoid that unwanted blue.
“They are also moldable in the event that you don’t like the results,” Dr. Foster concluded.
