HOW PEOPLE PLAN TO SPEND THEIR TAX RETURNS
Everyone’s favorite day of the year, tax day, has come and gone.
People are wondering what they should spend those extra dollars in their wallet on.
The usual answers have always been vacations or to go out shopping. But you might be surprised to find out what people spent their tax returns on this year.
A Whole Third!
An entire third of Americans–more, even, at 36 percent–spent their cash refund on cosmetic enhancement treatments.
This statistic is already boggling and impressive by itself, but it gets even more impressive. 36 percent is triple the number of Americans who got cosmetic enhancement last year.
That’s right: in one year alone, the number of Americans who got cosmetic treatment went from 13 percent to 36 percent.
Surprising? Not Too Surprising.
The fact of the matter is cosmetic treatments have been on the rise for a long while now. Last year, injectables alone accounted for 6.6 million treatments.
Cosmetic treatment has had a stigma for a long time, but that stigma seems to be going away in recent years.
Besides that, this is the perfect time of the year to do it. Like many other things in life, cosmetic treatment gets put off.
Thankfully, unlike many of those things in life which there seems to never be a good time for, having a bit of extra cash in the pocket is just the stimulus people need to go out and make a change.
