Do you know just how much downtime is required for liposuction?

This is important to consider when planning for your upcoming procedure to ensure a safe and effective healing process.

What Is Liposuction?

Liposuction is a surgical procedure where your surgeon removes fat from your body in order to create a more contoured and smoother aesthetic.

Will I Be Sore After My Procedure?

Most patients explain liposuction recovery as being similar to that of a giant bruise in the treatment area.

When Will Results Begin to Show?

Liposuction results will begin to show once your swelling has gone down.

In many cases this may take a few months.

However, most of the swelling should resolve within four weeks.

Will I Have a Scar?

Your surgeon should create a small discrete incision during your surgery which can be easily hidden in your natural skin creases and folds.

Is Liposuction Permanent?

The fat loss accomplished through liposuction is permanent.

However, if you do not take the proper precautions to lead a healthy lifestyle after your treatment you do risk new fat cells from growing in their place.

How Much Downtime Is Required for Liposuction?

While every patient is different, you should expect the healing process to last for a few months.

Your doctor will likely recommend wearing a compression garment for the first four to six weeks following your surgery in order to promote better healing and to minimize swelling and pain.
