Cost is one of the many things to consider when deciding to undergo a body sculpting procedure like CoolSculpting or liposuction.

So, it’s not surprising that many women and men compare the cost of each treatment and want to know: CoolSculpting or liposuction – what’s cheaper?

To find out the answer to this question and learn the average cost of CoolSculpting and lipo, read on.

What Is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a noninvasive body contouring treatment that uses controlled cooling to selectively freeze and kill fat cells beneath the skin.

In the weeks after a CoolSculpting session, destroyed fat cells are gradually eliminated from the body through natural detoxification processes.

The procedure has been FDA-approved since 2010 and is especially well-suited to stubborn bulges that have not responded to a healthy diet and disciplined fitness regimen.

What Is Liposuction?

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that involves manually extracting localized fat deposits with a thin tube called a cannula.

It may be conducted under general anesthesia, tumescent anesthesia, or local anesthesia with IV sedation and should be performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon in an accredited surgical facility.

CoolSculpting or Liposuction – What’s Cheaper?

Many people contemplating these two fat removal treatments ask: CoolSculpting or liposuction – what’s cheaper?

According to CoolSculpting’s website, the average cost of treatment is $2000 to $4000. However, treatment area, treatment size, provider reputation and expertise, and geographic location (where the procedure is performed) can all play a role in determining CoolSculpting cost.

According to statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the average cost of liposuction is $3,500 per area. Keep in mind that this figure only accounts for the surgeon’s fee and does not include anesthesia fees, facility fees, preoperative testing, surgical garments, or medications.
