Saggy under arm fat is the worst. No matter how many pushups you do, they just won’t go away on their own.

If you’re tired of hiding your arms away in sleeves and avoiding tank tops, then it’s time to talk to the professionals. So, are you considering an arm lift? Here’s what you need to know!

So, What Is an Arm Lift?

An arm lift, also known as a brachioplasty, is a cosmetic surgery that treats sagging under arms. It surgically reduces extra skin, removes excess fat, and smooth and tightens skin. The result is more defined and toned underarms.

How Do I Prepare for an Arm Lift?

Considering an arm lift? Preparing for it is quite simple:

  • Quit Smoking

Smoking increases your risk of complication during surgery, and it also slows healing time way down. Get with your doctor and start a program to quit smoking as soon as possible.

  • Talk to Your Surgeon

Your surgeon tests your health rigorously before any procedure, but that doesn’t mean you should skip telling them the details. Be sure to let your surgeon know about any medications or supplements you are taking, and quit taking anti-inflammatory medications at least two weeks before surgery. Your arm lift surgeon will also let you anything else you need to do to prep for your procedure.

What About Downtime?

Arm lifts require anesthesia. So, make sure you have someone to drive you home after your procedure. Performing an arm lift only takes about three hours. You need to wear a compression garment to help control swelling, and recovery is only about two weeks. Your results are permanent, as long as you keep a healthy diet and exercise.
