Millennials Line Up for Botox in Washington DC

Believe it or not, college-age women are the newest prime demographic for Botox Washington DC treatment.

There has been a sharp rise in Botox injections among women between the ages of 19 and 24. The American Society to Aesthetic Plastic Surgery found that treatment has increased by 41 percent in that group from 2011 to 2015.

The Star Tribune reported that these millennials are undergoing over half a million procedures a year.

The young ladies, primarily out of California, are confident some early cosmetic work will delay aging or a need for a future face lift, hoping to maintain their youth for as long as they can–this includes fillers and freezers.

Botox, itself, is an agent that paralyzes targeted muscles and blocks particular nerves, leaving no trace of wrinkles or crow’s feet.

Aesthetics have always been important to young gals, but the rise of social media and those “selfies” could be prompting the rise in injections.

Even men are getting in on it. 10 percent of Botox users are male. The Tribune cited the label, “Brotox.”

While any patient under the age of 18 would need parental consent, not everybody is encouraging this phenomenon.

“They’re better off using sunscreen and staying out of the sun,” said Rebecca Seuss, a nurse injector out of Minnesota. “You still look like you, just softer and refreshed.”

Suess said it just isn’t worth it, and compares it to getting your hair done.

Other dermatologists have even suggested avoiding squinting and frowning to diminish the chance of severe wrinkles.

Young adults are known for having money to blow, so the price of Botox tends to create more frowns than new clients.
