Most Common Plastic Surgery Treatments for African-American Patients
What are the most common plastic surgery treatments for African Americans?
When you shake it out by demographic, it can be interesting to see what different groups of people gravitate toward.
Here are some of the most common procedures for African Americans.
Rhinoplasties
You might better know rhinoplasties as nose jobs.
During a rhinoplasty, the patient might undergo a closed or open rhinoplasty–the latter being used for more thorough nasal reshapings.
But a closed rhinoplasty can conceal nose incisions.
Breast Reduction
Breast reductions are another commonly requested procedure by African Americans.
Given the popularity of breast augmentation, the idea of a breast reduction can be strange to some people.
But for individuals who feel that their breasts sag, or even individuals who sometimes suffer back pain from their large breasts, a breast reduction can be an extremely welcome change.
Liposuction
C is another popular procedure. It should be noted liposuction is NOT a weight loss procedure, but a body contouring procedure.
Liposuction is best combined with healthy diet and exercise.
Diet and exercise cause a global reduction in weight and fat, while liposuction causes spot reduction of fat in problem areas.
Tummy Tucks
Tummy tucks are another body contouring procedure.
This popular plastic surgery procedure is similar to liposuction in that they reduce fat around the abdomen, but, being a surgical procedure, they usually provide more dramatic results while also requiring a longer recovery time.
Gluteal Enhancement
Gluteal enhancement, popularly known as a butt lift, is a popular procedure among African Americans.
Not all gluteal enhancements use butt implants. In fact, in the popular Brazilian butt lift, fat is transferred from one part of the body into the buttocks to fill out the area.
These are just a few popular cosmetic treatments for African Americans.
