What Is Labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is the most popular form of vaginal rejuvenation.
The surgical procedure is designed to reduce the length of the labia minora so that they recede or are even with the outer labia, also known as the labia majora.

Why Do Women Have Labiaplasty?
Like other vaginal rejuvenation treatments, women often choose to undergo labiaplasty for aesthetic as well as functional reasons.
The treatment is well-suited for patients who wish to improve labia symmetry and appearance as well as boost self-confidence. Many women also report that they are finally able wear a swimsuit without worrying about labia protruding.
Additionally, labiaplasty can alleviate itching, irritation, and pain, and make riding a bike and sexual intercourse more comfortable and enjoyable.
How Is Labiaplasty Performed?
Labiaplasty is an outpatient treatment that may be performed with local anesthesia and oral sedation or general anesthesia.
The trim approach removes the outer edge of the labia minora and eliminates the darkest part of the labia.
The wedge technique removes a pie-shaped piece of tissue from each side of the labia and sutures the edges together.
What Can Patients Expect from Recovery?
Most women take a week off from work following labiaplasty vaginal rejuvenation.
During this time, they should apply ice in 20 minutes on/20 minutes off intervals to reduce swelling and discomfort. Resting their bottom in an elevated position can also help decrease inflammation.
Within four-to-six weeks, women are able to engage in sexual intercourse and wear tampons.
