What Is CoolTone?

Even with a clean diet and consistent strength training, many women and men are unable to increase muscle mass and achieve a more sculpted appearance.

If a defined, toned physique seems out of reach, there’s good news! The FDA recently approved a new, non-invasive muscle-building treatment called CoolTone.

While this may sound like an ideal solution to reach your body goals, you may be wondering: What is CoolTone?

Continue reading to learn all about this toning technology and if it’s right for you.

What Is CoolTone?

CoolTone is an FDA-approved treatment that is designed to strengthen and tone muscles.

It is non-invasive, performed in an office-setting, and avoids incisions, anesthesia, and downtime.

CoolTone is an excellent option for women and men who want to build muscle, increase abdominal definition, sculpt their thighs, and lift and firm their buttocks.

How Does CoolTone Work?

CoolTone uses magnetic muscle stimulation (MMS) to increase muscle mass and achieve a more chiseled physique.

More specifically, the device delivers electromagnetic energy to targeted muscles in order to induce extremely powerful contractions, which cause muscle fibers to remodel and become thicker.

Is CoolTone the Same as CoolSculpting?

In addition to wondering, “What is CoolTone?” many patients want to know if the treatment is the same as CoolSculpting.

While both body contouring devices are manufactured by Allergan and have cool in their name, they are separate technologies.

Whereas CoolSculpting employs controlled cooling to freeze and destroy unwanted fat pockets, CoolTone utilizes MMS to build and strengthen muscles.

Accordingly, the two treatments have different mechanisms of action (cooling vs. MMS) and clinical outcomes (fat removal vs. muscle building).

Is CoolTone the Same as Emsculpt?

If you are interested in nonsurgical muscle toning, you may be familiar with Emsculpt.

Emsculpt is a non-invasive device that relies on high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to build muscle.

However, CoolTone is designed to provide 50 percent more magnetic intensity than its competitor.

When Will CoolTone be Available?

Although the aesthetic industry is already buzzing about CoolTone, the muscle-toning device won’t be available until later this year.

When it does arrive in plastic surgeon and dermatologist’s offices, patients can expect to undergo a series of four sessions, spaced over 2 weeks, to achieve optimal results.
